Sally's approach to mediation combines the experience she has gained as a civil litigation Solicitor since 1990 with more recent skills and knowledge developed through her mediation training in 2004, study towards a BSC (Hons) degree in psychology (commenced in 2004 and due to complete in December 2007), and counselling skills training commenced in 2006. Sally combines a quick, accurate appreciation of the issues and the parties' needs and interests with a friendly but firm manner which encourages and motivates the parties to settle. As a Solicitor, Sally specialised in Personal Injury law and became a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel in 1995, before broadening her expertise to include those areas referred to above. She became a Partner at Rudlings Wakelam, Solicitors in 1998, where her interest in resolving disputes - and her ability to do so - were developed by her responsibility for staff issues. By 2004 Sally realised that her motivation, skills and experience were better directed towards mediation. She retired from partnership in early 2005, and since then she has undertaken a wide range of mediations and conciliations including:- Sally now works on a freelance basis, combining her mediations with her continuing studies and with her work as a member of the Board of the Solicitors Regulation Authority, which includes membership of the SRA's Education and Training, and Financial Protection Committees. She is not currently practising as a Solicitor. Sally is also an accredited panel member of ADR Group. |
