Philip Barlow

Philip is a qualified doctor, barrister and solicitor. Previously a partner at City insurance firm Kennedys, he now runs his own practice. He also sits as a Legal Assessor for the General Medical Council and the Nursing and Midwifery Council, as well as lecturing widely on civil litigation and on the law and ethics of medicine.

Since training as a mediator in 1995 he has mediated a wide variety of disputes from boundary disputes to high quantum commercial contracts and insurance cases. He is skilled at building a rapport with the parties, and in getting to grips with the issues in a case.

He has worked as a conciliator for resolving legal complaints and acted as a consultant for The Law Society's Risk and Compliance Service. He also designs and runs training courses on mediation for solicitors and other professionals.
